GUY EDWARDS - TENOR AND BARITONE

Recently, Guy made a work/life balance decision that meant he could take up singing again after nearly 30 years! Since 2006, he has sung as a top-tenor with the internationally-acclaimed Wessex Male Choir and has performed numerous concerts with them including in Westminster Cathedral, the Bath Forum, Malmesbury Abbey, and in Valencia.

Keen to develop as a soloist, he started studying with soprano Debra Skeen at her High Wycombe studio in 2007 and has since sung as a soloist in the 2008 Swindon Music Festival winning a number of trophies.

He has sung lieder and opera in a masterclass with American tenor Chris Swanson and he has made a promising start to his career as a principal making his operatic debut as Danilo in White Horse Opera’s The Merry Widow and as Papageno in Kennet Opera’s Magic Flute.

He has made numerous recital appearances and also makes his debut this year as a choral principal in Haydn’s Nicolai Mass with the Newbury Chamber Choir.

Guy also plays ‘cello for the Wessex Concert Orchestra (of which he is also orchestra manager).
