CHRISTINA RAPHAELLE HALDANE , soprano, is attending the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she studies with Susan McCulloch. She has received an MMus from the Guildhall School of Music and a BMus from the University of Toronto. She also spent a year of study at the Indiana University School of Music.

Christina Raphaëlle Haldane’s roles include the title role in Alcina, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Casilda in The Gondoliers and Thisbe in Pyramus and Thisbe. Other solo performances include Handel Messiah, Bach St.John Passion, Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen and St. Matthew Passion, Mozart Requiem and Coronation Mass and Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle.

She has collaborated with Lukas Foss on his Time Cycle and her performance was hailed as “a triumph”. She toured with the Indiana New Music Ensemble, giving performances of Eugene O’Brien’s In the Country of Last Things in Bloomington, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco. She has performed “Ich Nur”… Encore V by Karl Aage Rasmussen, with the Queen of Puddings Music Theatre Company in Toronto, as part of their Contemporary Opera workshop.

Christina Raphaëlle Haldane has been the recipient of awards and scholarships in Canada, England and the USA. She has been funded by the Indiana University School of Music, the Chautauqua Institute, the Lake Placid Institute, the Britten – Pears Young Artist Programme, the Canadian Aldeburgh Foundation and the Canada Council for the Arts. She has also been given awards by the Elora Festival Young Musicians Competition and NATS.

Upcoming performances include Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème and various concert engagements.
