ALEXANDER ANDERSON-HALL was born in Lincolnshire and studied at the Royal College of Music in London. He continues his studies with Arwel Traherne-Morgan and Tecwyn Evans.
For Scottish Opera he has sung a number of roles including:
Flavio in Norma, The Peacock in Param Vir’s Broken Strings, John Millar Jnr. for the World premiere of David Horne’s A Friend of the People and Janek in Scottish Opera -go-Round’s The Makropoulos Case.
His other operatic roles include Gastone - La Traviata, Ismael - Nabucco, MacDuff - Macbeth, Prince Vladimir - Prince Igor and Marco - The Gondoliers. In 2001, He performed Remendado – Carmen, with London City Opera in an extensive tour of the United States of America, and also for the Ludlow festival. He sang Ernesto – Don Pasquale and Frederic – The Pirates of Penzance at the Iford Festival and the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh.
His latest roles include: Don Ottavio – Don Giovanni, Gastone – La Traviata and Des Grieux – Manon, for English Touring Opera, also, Gastone – La Traviata and Goro – Madama Butterfly for London City Opera at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.
His musical theatre performances include: Tommy - Brigadoon,
Tony - West Side Story, Ravinal - Showboat, the title role in Jesus Christ Superstar and Anthony - Sweeney Todd.
He has given concert recitals at several City of London Festivals, in Milan, and throughout the United Kingdom performing works such as:
The Creation - Haydn, Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings, Handel’s Messiah, Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music, Puccini - Messa di Gloria and Rossini - Stabat Mater.
Future engagements in Switzerland, Africa, U.K and Europe include: - Remendado – Carmen and Don Ottavio – Don Giovanni for Garden Opera. Alfredo – La Traviata, Rodolfo – La Boheme and Trial by Jury. Oratorio and concert performances include Petite Messe Solennelle - Rossini at Lincoln Cathedral, Mozart’s Requiem and a series of gala concerts with Opera Galleria colleague James McOran-Campbell.
